Summary

This work presents Islamic terrorism with reference to European Union in the beginning of 21th century. Work proves that terrorism is one of the biggest danger for EU Member States. For the reason of religious motivation, development and social support, Islamic terrorism is other than any known types of terrorism in European Union.
After terrorist attack in USA on 11 September 2001, Islamic terrorism became global danger. European Union must face up to this problem which constitutes main danger. The biggest development of Islamic terrorism took place in latest years. The main reason of that situation is geographical position, social structure, demography and religion. Inflow of immigrants and freedom of activity cause creation of many terrorism organizations on areas of Europe. In 2004 in Madrid and 2005 in London took place two big terrorist attacks. These attacks show that every european country is in danger. EU Member States makes potential objective of Islamic Jihad fighters. Therefore, it is important to face up to this danger with the use of adequate political project. Organs of European Union gave many initiatives and proposals how to counteract terrorism.
