A wondeful song with quite obscure meaning..."To slash and scar" - this isn't even grammatically correct, because "slash" is a transitive verb, which means it should be followed by the object. I skimmed through any other English speaking forums to get any gist of it, and it seems that native speakers themselves do not have the idea of what the author had possibly in mind when saying that. I suppose it is a kind of the construct of the mind, a nonce word that the author came up with to "touch" a recipient.

Może ktoś inny, bardziej doświadczony, coś wymyśli ;)

To nie jest dokładnie to, co w oryginale, tam się kryją jeszcze inne znaczenia, ale podobno z tłumaczniem jest jak z kobietą, albo piękne albo wierne. No i na coś się trzeba zdecydować :-)

"not their own to slash and scar", because if they're your own you can do what you want with them, but leave alone what's someone else's - and I don't know how to render that in Polish. Then for "slash and scar" you could use a perfective or imperfective form. Anyway a great text and not bad sound as well.

You hit the nail on the head! Translation is like a woman. If it is beautiful, it is not faithful. If it is faithful, it is most certainly not beautiful. Does it mean a woman cannot be both beautiful and faithful to a man, huh? :).

For kicks:

I agree with what someone once said 'Don't say that there is no love without jealousy, as it's not true'. And then if she's beautiful and she truly loves (the one not the army), it's ok.

And the iPhone-Blackberry spec. is really good ;)
