Greg fibber - pomoc z angielskiego

Na zajęciach miałem czas past cont. i postanowiłem trochę się zabawić. Wszyscy pamiętają wierszyk o Grzesiu - kłamczuszku J. Tuwima?
Wiem, że błędów pewnie co nie miara, ale w moim wieku to przestałem się zbytnio tym przejmować, jednak gdyby ktoś miał jakieś sugestie co do innych rozwiązań i zechciał poprawić, to będzie mi bardzo miło.

- Did you put a letter into the mailbox as I asked you, Greg?

- A letter?? Oh, the letter! Yes, I did! Of course, my darling auntie!

- Don’t you lie, Greg? Will be better, when you admit it…

- Me liar?? Never, my darling auntie!

- Uncle Leon is waiting for this letter. Could you promise me?

- I promise! I remember all in detail:

The letter was addressed to uncle Leon,

And the mailbox was red,

And an envelope… The envelope was… just usual envelope -

- Nothing special

But on the envelope was written the surname,

And "Łódź"… And number of the street…

I remember everything – there was a stamp with Belweder glued on the envelope,

And while I was putting it in the mailbox, was going Halina’s father,

And the soldier was posting his letter too.

He was so tall… that he was squatting while he was putting it.

And was riding a cab, was hooting a bus

And were going three girls…

...While I was posting this letter ….

The aunt wondered, and nodded.

She looked at Greg and said:

- Oh, Greg ! I haven't given you the letter…

- Me, a liar?? Never, my dear auntie!
