Wakacyjna przygoda
It seems that people remember some events for a very long time not because they regard them the most important ones, but because they make impression upon them. I still remember my horrible adventure which happened to me after I had passed my entrance examinations to the secondary school. I was on holidays at my grandmother's in the mountains in the south of Poland. One day my granny wanted me to pay a visit to my aunt who lived in a small town several kilometers away from the place we were staying. She also asked me to take my little cousin with me. I wasn't very glad but my cousin promised to be a good girl so I didn't mind.
After we had arrived to the station I bought our tickets. I saw another train going in the opposite direction to ours standing on the first platform. Our train was supposed to leave from the second platform. There was no underground passage and I didn't know what to do. Then I thought that we would have to walk round that long train to get to our platform. But In the same moment I noticed that most of the passengers were passing through the train standing on the first platform, I decided to do the same. I helped my little cousin to climb the high steps. She got in first and at once got off before I managed to do the same. Suddenly the train started, the doors closed automatically, I was still inside. I saw my cousin running along the train which was moving faster and faster. I saw her smiling face and her knees moving very quickly. I stopped thinking for a moment. Somebody shouted 'The brake!', I pulled it down and the train stopped. I saw my cousin with her smiling face, proud that everyone was looking at her. I wasn't able to say a word. I expected the conductor to come and ask me to explain why I had done this, but nobody came. The passengers had told him everything before he found me. Then our train arrived and off we went.
